Review of Bandit (2022 Movie):

As a Canadian, I had no idea about this interesting story, but Duhamel’s charm was not enough to save the jumbled narrative. There are many little issues that bombed this film to be perfect, rather than simply great. One of the issues was the long and hauled out 126 min runtime; it had an excess of frustratingly tasteless filler and too minimal drawing in substance to hold the watcher’s consideration. I wanted to “just get on with the story” in many scenes, but I was getting impatient. I don’t mind long running times, especially when the story is told in a way that moves quickly, but in this case, it took too long and I lost interest in many scenes. I additionally felt the film experienced a personality emergency – not certain to be treated in a serious way, or make me giggle en route. Both occurred, however insufficient of either to keep me engaged in the 126 mins. There weren’t enough funny parts, and there weren’t enough suspenseful ones. I feel this should have been chopped down to a 90-100 min runtime to be more pleasant. The center pieces of the film simply didn’t hold my consideration well overall. Even the narration felt incomplete, and I wondered if more was required to get the story moving. Everything just felt excessively tasteless and passerby to keep me engaged all through. In spite of the fact that exhibitions were fair and persuading particularly Gibson and Duhamel, and the cinematography and score on the money, this might have handily been more enjoyable and emotional in the possession of additional carefully prepared producers.
